Throughout the festival, Royal Academy of Music students explore Messiaen’s vast and exotic Catalogue d’oiseaux (Catalogue of Birds) for solo piano. This concert also features the first work to be inspired by the pianism of Messiaen’s second wife Yvonne Loriod, Visions de l’Amen for two pianos.
